Born in Québec City, Canada, Sophie Sanfacon (what a great last name !) started scuba diving in 2004 in Australia and became soon after a cold water diver. From her first compact Canon compact A70, she is now using a Canon 5D in an Aquatica Housing with dual Ikelite strobes DS 125. Her day work brought her in Northern Quebec with the Cree Nation (2005-2008) and in Senegal (for a teaching project with the pharmacy faculty of Université Laval in 2009). She is now living in the West Coast, in Nanaimo, British-Columbia Canada. She still kept her ”French-Québécois” accent and is proud to be an audible minority in her new home with the Pacific Ocean as a playground.
